Wisdom Charity: Educate!

Wisdom Charity: Educate!

Educate! Logo

The Main Objective of Educate! is to Transform African Education System to Develop Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs.

Get Self-Development is working with Educate! within the Wisdom category because they are developing  communities in Africa through transforming the education system with an aim of developing entrepreneurs and leaders.

Youth empowerment is the route that Educate is taking and they deliver the program to 16-20 year old youth within Ugandan schools. They give practical and relevant model of education, comprised of a leadership and entrepreneurship course, interactive teaching, intensive mentorship, experience starting an enterprise, and access to out of school networks and resources.

Another thought why we want to help EDUCATE! is...

If you GIVE them a fish you FEED them for a DAY.
If you TEACH them how to fish you FEED them for a LIFETIME.

The young people involved are focused on developing long-lasting change by helping the youth involved in starting their own business and being independent.

Youth is the foundation of the new world. Why not make this the best foundation we possibly can!

The Vision and Mission of Educate!

Vision
A world where African education systems prepare youth to be leaders and entrepreneurs who drive long-term sustainable development.

Mission
Educate! develops young leaders and entrepreneurs in Africa.

What Educate Does
Educate! delivers to 16-20 year old youth within Ugandan schools a practical and relevant model of education, comprised of a leadership and entrepreneurship course, interactive teaching, intensive mentorship, experience starting an enterprise, and access to out of school networks and resources. Through advocacy and direct service in schools, we are working to get this model to be part of the education system.

How the program works

Educate! sends Mentor Fellows into partner secondary schools for the last year and a half of high school to run The Educate! Experience. The Mentor Fellows are all carefully selected, thoroughly supported and trained. Educate!'s Mentor Fellows work with students, who we call Educate! Scholars. Scholars begin the program in the fifth year of secondary school at approximately age 16 and participate for four terms. They engage in different parts of the program which include leadership, entrepreneurship, mentorship and get practical experience by starting a business.

How we work with Educate!

Get Self Development (GSD) is working with Educate! In its charity program on W6 Gratitude-Wisdom. Contributions which constitute 10% of profits of GSD will be directed to the activities that Educate! engages in which include and not limited to trainings to young entrepreneurs, advocacy on entrepreneurship, business plan competitions and awards.
